On the final Japan cruise, with the Captain — I hope Viking comes back to Japan! #MyVikingStory
I love this spot — look up and there's the blue sky; glance left or right and you can take in the stern, starboard, and port all at once. Thank you for always making such delicious cocktails. Thank you for always keeping the windows sparkling clean. I'm so glad I found this wonderful ship. Hope to see you again soon! #MyVikingStory
Four cancers. Eleven years of treatment. All in remission. This was a journey to celebrate my recovery. A trip I will never forget. Thank you so much, Viking! #MyVikingStory
Passing through the Kanmon Strait at night, heading to South Korea. The night view is beautiful! #MyVikingStory
Feeling the Christmas spirit! I was tempted to take a little nibble of the gingerbread house. #MyVikingStory
A journey of castle hopping! Nagoya Castle, Kumamoto Castle, Kochi Castle, and Obi Castle. Perhaps Aburatsu can only be reached by ship? It was a small town, but such a lovely place!!! #MyVikingStory
My first time in Kochi! I tried bonito tataki and whale tatsuta-age. Felt like a kid again taking this fun photo! Haha~ #MyVikingStory
The one and only Jigoku Meguri (Hell Tour) bus in Beppu! I was on the excursion, so I only caught a glimpse of it... #MyVikingStory
May 20th — After dinner, an espresso martini at The Living Room Bar on Deck 1. Thank you, Makino, for making it! #MyVikingStory
May 20th — At the port in Sukumo, we enjoyed local specialties: shochu, river shrimp (deep-fried), sweetfish (salt-grilled), and bonito tataki (I ate it before I could take a photo 🙏). Washed it all down with the imo shochu you see here! #MyVikingStory
May 18th, just after 10 PM — Passed under the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. #MyVikingStory
May 19th — Joined the tour to Awa Odori Kaikan, then slipped away to enjoy Tokushima ramen at the nearby restaurant "Todai." #MyVikingStory
The second stop on our May 18th tour — Viking Yidun seen through the classroom window at Twenty-Four Eyes Film Village. #MyVikingStory
May 18th excursion — The olive-colored mailbox at Olive Park on Shodoshima. #MyVikingStory
May 18th morning — Saying good morning to passengers on the Jumbo Ferry at Sakate Port, Shodoshima. #MyVikingStory
Since the castle tour was in the morning, I spent a relaxing afternoon by the pool with a frozen strawberry daiquiri! #MyVikingStory
On another excursion organized by Viking, we headed to the castle together on two buses. #MyVikingStory
May 16th (Day 2) — One of the shore excursions Viking arranged for us. #MyVikingStory
After departing with around 600 guests aboard, a car carrier followed us at the edge of Tokyo Bay, tracing the Yidun's wake. Today marks the start of a 10-day cruise. I can't wait to see what memories we'll make along the way! #MyVikingStory
This is Viking, through and through. #MyVikingStory
On board the Yidun's final Japan cruise! #MyVikingStory
With just two days left, I enjoyed sanma sushi at a sushi restaurant near Shingu Station before returning to the ship. I had a delicious coffee and snapped a photo with Kento, the bar waiter. In the evening, we had a farewell celebration with the Yidun staff who will soon be leaving Japan. When Viking returns to Japan, I will definitely sail again. #MyVikingStory
I boarded just after Golden Week, with only three Japan voyages remaining. On the second day, May 7th, I watched the sunset that would beautifully color the journey ahead, and wished for safe travels. #MyVikingStory
I had always wanted to sail on a ship filled with Nordic ambiance. The relaxing cruise experience, combined with the friendly smiles and attentive care of the staff, was truly wonderful. I would love to sail again if the opportunity arises. #MyVikingStory
So many wonderful memories were made. #MyVikingStory
An invitation to classical music #MyVikingStory
Live music filled the ship — pop, rock, disco, classical, jazz, fusion — creating a wonderful atmosphere throughout. #MyVikingStory
We joined the 32-day Asia Grand Cruise to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. After celebrating at the restaurant, we returned to our stateroom to find a beautiful swan towel art waiting for us—we were so touched! Kent from the bar team had also sent a congratulations card and my husband's favorite beer (Amber Ale) to our room. We were truly delighted. The Viking Yidun is my absolute favorite ship of all the ships I've ever sailed on. Please come back to Japan again! #MyVikingStory
Goodbye for now, Tokyo, Japan. The Rainbow Bridge fades into the distance. #MyVikingStory
Christmas event 🎄 A quick photo in front of the tree decorated with message cards of wishes, alongside Sonoko looking fabulous in her bright red suit 📷️ #MyVikingStory
The white hull of the Viking Yidun looks stunning against the sea. #MyVikingStory
As we set sail, Sakurajima sent us off with a puff of smoke, bidding farewell to the Viking. #MyVikingStory
Yoshi and Jukury taught us how to make Mexican tortillas at The Kitchen Table! We filled them with cheese and other ingredients, grilled them until golden on both sides, and enjoyed them with dips (guacamole and sour cream) alongside about eight other guests. #MyVikingStory
The staff waiting for their turn to perform Christmas carols. They looked so excited and happy. It had been a while since I last sang Christmas songs, and it was the most wonderful night. #MyVikingStory
A tiny charm of my favorite character that I had attached to my phone. During the shore excursion in Yeosu, I noticed it was gone. With no way to search for it, I returned to the ship feeling a bit down. I looked around my room, but it had already been beautifully cleaned, and I was about to give up—when I casually opened the nightstand drawer, and there it was. It seems it got caught on something when I left and fell onto the floor or sofa. Such a heartwarming memory that they took such care of something so small. Thank you for tidying my room so carefully and perfectly every day. #MyVikingStory
I boarded to celebrate my 50th cruise milestone 🎉, which also happened to be my birthday. I was so surprised when two cakes 🎂🎂 came out! I had only casually mentioned it to the manager on board, but they surprised me and I was truly moved. The crew's hospitality is wonderful. The food is the best of any ship I've ever sailed on—and even more so because the chef was Japanese. Thank you so much 😊😊 #MyVikingStory
Had an amazing time at the countdown party with my favorite show staff member, Yafi ✌️ I've attended the party two years in a row now, and once again I was able to connect with Yafi and make so many unforgettable memories 💞 The Viking staff are truly wonderful 👌 #MyVikingStory
Introducing the crew #MyVikingStory
I've sailed on many cruise ships over the years, but the Viking Yidun is one of the very best. I've heard this will be the last year she calls on Japan, but I truly hope she'll return again someday. #MyVikingStory
The Viking Yidun warmly welcomed us as an early celebration of our upcoming 30th wedding anniversary. The waffles at Manfredi's, carefully made to order; the miso soup prepared with freshly drawn dashi every morning; the herring roe in matsumae-style marinade served as an amuse-bouche—each dish reflected a true commitment to authenticity that deeply moved us. I'll also never forget how so many crew members remembered my name from the moment I boarded. While Viking Yidun operates under the brand's rigorous global standards, my time on board revealed a vessel with a distinct personality. I was particularly impressed by the captivating Chinese elements that set her apart from any other ship in the Viking fleet. With Chinese chefs on board, I was able to enjoy authentic congee, dim sum, tantanmen at the Pool Grill, and hot and sour soup at The Chef's Table—a wonderful variety of Chinese cuisine unique to the Yidun. At the same time, the lobster—a Western classic—was consistently excellent, standing alongside the wagyu and châteaubriand as true highlights. Each dish showcased masterful cooking techniques. The lobster I had on this occasion was absolutely the finest. The attention to detail was evident throughout: the abalone and king crab sourced at ports of call, the thoughtful Japanese-language menus, and even the miso soup carefully prepared from scratch by a Japanese chef. I was deeply moved by the heartfelt service of the staff and the warm hospitality of everyone in the restaurant team, including Manager Hamada. #MyVikingStory
Had a great time chatting with Marvin from the crew about MLB and watches. It makes me sad to think that May will be the last Japan cruise! #MyVikingStory
As soon as I board, I always have a burger 🍔! The burgers on the Yidun are the best of any cruise ship—they go perfectly with beer 🍺! #MyVikingStory
Birthday dinner! I celebrated with the crew and a couple I met on the Yidun last year. Thank you for making such a delicious cake 🎂😃 It was the best birthday ever! #MyVikingStory
At the very back of the Viking Yidun—I absolutely love this view! #MyVikingStory
Kent always makes the most delicious coffee ☕️🤗 Looking forward to seeing you again in May! #MyVikingStory
The Asia Cruise was our very first month-long cruise. It felt like a dream come true — sailing on the wonderful Viking Yidun, with excitement that never stopped! It was truly so much fun. Every crew member was kind and attentive, and we felt so happy. We'd love to join another long cruise! Thank you so much. #MyVikingStory
A talent show featuring cruise staff and guests. It was so much fun! I danced with friends I made on board. Truly a unique experience you don't get in everyday life. #MyVikingStory
So grateful they kindly took a commemorative photo with us! It became a wonderful keepsake and memory! #MyVikingStory
Singing and dancing together with everyone was so much fun. It made for the best Christmas memories. I definitely want to sail again! #MyVikingStory
With the kind and friendly Nobita 😊 I was amazed that he remembered my face so quickly! #MyVikingStory
"Kochi Castle" – Takamatsu cannot overshadow Kochi Castle. The scenery of Tosa spreads vast beneath an empty sky. Old wood and aged stone breathe ancient spirit. Flying eaves and battling corners, fierce as an eagle. December 12, 2025 #MyVikingStory
A mother-daughter trip to celebrate my mom's 77th birthday (kiju). She dressed up and felt like a true lady — it was the best trip ever! #MyVikingStory
A hint of geranium, hinoki, and tea in the air — and suddenly I'm back to that day I spent at the ship. One of the best moments of my life. #MyVikingStory
With Tom the bartender… He always takes great care of us like a good friend. See you again in May! #MyVikingStory
#MyVikingStory
The dance party on the final night of the cruise! It was an amazing day 👍 We'll also be joining the final Japan cruise on May 24! Looking forward to it! #MyVikingStory
A Relaxing Voyage #MyVikingStory
On the Asia Grand Cruise, sailing through the Singapore Strait and watching cargo ships pass by. Enjoying the lovely breeze from the Aquavit Terrace. #MyVikingStory
The Countdown to 2026 on our New Year holiday cruise was a complete change from the usual calm, leisurely pace on board, transforming into a moment filled with peak excitement and energy ♪ I'm truly grateful to Viking Eden for letting me be part of such an unforgettable experience. #MyVikingStory
On the third day of our New Year cruise, we sailed through the calm Seto Inland Sea and headed to Matsuyama Port ♪ With no wind and gentle waves, the Infinity Pool offered a view of the ship's wake and the sunrise ahead. A truly heartwarming morning moment that can be enjoyed on the Viking Yidun. #MyVikingStory
Asia Cruise Entering Yokohama Port #MyVikingStory
The treats served at the onboard Christmas market, the mulled wine, and the Christmas carols—it was such a warm and home-like event. We wrote down our wishes and hung them on the tree, and amazingly, mine might just be coming true. I wrote, "I hope I can sail on this ship again!" #MyVikingStory
