Before Boarding
My Viking Journey
Viking's dedicated online portal, My Viking Journey, supports every aspect of the voyage — from pre-departure preparation through to shore excursion reservations.
Early access is encouraged to ensure a smooth embarkation experience.
What can be done through My Viking Journey:
- Complete the online guest information form
- Browse and reserve shore excursion tours
- Make reservations at specialty restaurants
- Book spa treatments
- Review the voyage schedule and reservation details
The booking window for pre-voyage reservations will be communicated by the travel agent handling the booking.
Specialty restaurant seatings and popular shore excursions tend to fill quickly. Early reservations are recommended to secure preferred plans.
My Viking JourneyPassport
A valid passport is required on the day of boarding. As Japan-departure cruises on Viking Yidun are classified as international voyages, a passport is required for embarkation. Passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the end date of the cruise.
Passport Copies
Copies of the passport are required at check-in and at immigration checkpoints. Please bring two copies per person. The photo page should be copied in full spread on A4 paper (portrait orientation), one person per page. Black-and-white copies are acceptable.
Passports at Ports of Call
Guests holding non-Japanese passports must carry their passport whenever going ashore at any port of call.
Visa Requirements
Visa requirements for each port of call are subject to change. Guests are responsible for confirming the latest requirements through their travel agent or official government sources, and for obtaining any necessary visas independently. Non-Japanese passport holders may require visas or entry permits at ports of call regardless of whether they plan to go ashore.
Credit Cards
Onboard purchases and paid services are settled by credit card, debit card, or US dollar cash. When a credit card is registered at check-in, no further settlement is required at disembarkation.
VISA, Mastercard, JCB, American Express
* Some cards may not support online pre-check-in. Bringing more than one card is advisable.
* JCB cards and USD cash payments require settlement at Guest Services before disembarkation.
* No advance deposit is required for USD cash payment.
Cruise Card
The Cruise Card serves as onboard identification at each port of call and, when a credit card has been registered, functions as a cashless payment method throughout the ship.
The assembly station assignment and emergency group number are printed on each Cruise Card. Please take note of these details.
